Superb experience at The Lion on Sunday . Having called late on Saturday evening hoping for a table I was politely told they were fully booked which I accepted . However no more than 10minutes had passed & I had a call back as they had just had a cancellation. Fantastic , the service was great all with a smile , plates cleared away & the food was superb , my wife being a vegetarian always has limited choice but The Lion has a vegan roast & a Brie tart which she choose . Great favour . I had the beef roast & they certainly were not shy with the beef , 4 good slices . All in all well done a great experience you should all be proud of what you are achieving . We will be back without question .

My first visit since the renovation for a late Sunday roast with family. The roast beef meal was to a very high standard with good quality ingredients and very well presented. Very efficient and friendly staff and I can wholeheartedly recommend the apple Charlotte sweet. The place has a contemporary but classic vibe with interesting but calming and homely decor. The draft bear we had, the Hop Union Boneville Pale was a perfect, light and refreshing washer-downer. Overall good value and a great experience. Thoroughly recommended!

We went for Mother’s Day Sunday lunch and were really impressed. Food was lovely, staff were really kind and polite (we even had a little space to ourselves!). We were able to bring our dogs and they kindly sorted out a meal to take away as one of our party couldn’t come. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Popped in for lunch on recommendation after visiting Westbury NT. What a great pub. Friendly staff and a warm welcome. Quick service and delicious food. We ordered the baguettes which came with chips and coleslaw. Turkey for me and cheese for hubby. Wish it was our local.

We came here on a busy Sunday as a group of 12. The booking, service and food were all great and we all really enjoyed our meal. We were very impressed that all our food came at the same time and piping hot, even with a fully booked lunchtime and not many staff, thank you!

We visited tonight and had food off the Tapas Tuesday menu. It was very nice!! We got 6 plates between the two of us and it was plenty filling. The duck and fondant potato was our favourite!! We also treat ourselves to a cheese board after and this was really lovely. It cost us around 50 quid for 6 tapas, 1 cheese baord and 2 pints. Which is great value.

Excellent food with the service to match. I’ve been here three times now and can honestly say it’s one of my favourites places to eat. You are warmly greeted the moment you walk through the door, whether you have pre-booked or not the staff will go out of their way to accommodate you. A great selection of beers, ciders and wines which are all reasonably priced. I always choose the sharing cheese fondue as a starter and it never fails to satisfy. I’ve had four different meals each time which have included the Fish and Ribeye steak but the pick of the bunch for me is the chicken pie. It just bursts with flavour and is beautiful cooked from start to finish, the chunky chips are superb also. Take my advice and order a side of onion rings! Without the doubt the best I’ve had. Make sure you have the truffle dust! (Garlic Bread also highly recommended) You won’t be disappointed and I already can’t wait for my next visit.

Really enjoy coming here for Sunday lunches. There is good options for vegans - I would definitely recommend the vegan roast dinner! There was also a few options for vegan puddings. There is always a nice atmosphere when we come here and feel very welcome. I feel lucky to have this lovely pub/restaurant on our door stop.
